Do you have a mother language?

Do you speak your mother language? What does the phrase mother language resonate in you? If you have never met your mother or for example you are adopted? How is that?

If you have been forced to immigrate from your original country, brought up in a different place than your mother land and don't even speak your mother language well, how do you feel?

Does it bother you that even with your own mother or father you can not communicate properly?

I have met so many people who have been brought up elsewhere, speak the language of that country as their first language -and usually many other languages-yet don't really have a common language with their parents.

Lets put it this way. Communication with parents could be challenging for many of us, regardless of the common language and I am talking out of my own experience.

The new language though, the Virtual language, has some amazing elements. When you chat on facebook you send a pink heart and your girlfriend responds with the same one. I must admit I like the heart on Skype because it beats, pretty amazing hah!
When you chat on Skype you receive a hug and you send a hug back. Sometimes we get so emotional and we send a bunch of kisses back.

My point is when it comes to communication, mirroring, or repeating exact same thing we have heard, clothed with love and kindness may work pretty well. The other party feels heard and understood, two rare phenomenon in the arena of conflicting communication :)

For those of us who may not speak our mother language well, repeating what she/he says helps us learn the language. In case you say it wrong she/he may repeat it and say " I didn't say this, I said that!"

It seems love, as usual, when comes to picture, resolves, heals and flows.

21st of February is The International Day of Mother language. Make sure you speak you mother tongue today at least for 10 minutes and do not forget to cloth it with love .) Because then and only then the words will become meaningful and they attract the hearts.
